Job Description for Human Resources IT PM:
HR IT requires a Program Manager to define, build, and drive the offshore software development and testing efforts for the Human Resources IT organization.
This position will reside in Hyderabad India and be responsible to work with the Redmond based HR IT program management and solution delivery teams.
The role requires both tactical execution and strategic planning. In addition, the role demands understanding requirements, creating functional specifications, collaborating with Business/Key Users, Redmond Program Management team, Hyderabad based Development, Test & Operations Support teams from envisioning phase to delivering the software application in Production.
A key factor of success is the ability to build strong partnerships between the Redmond team (Engineering & Solutions Delivery teams) and the engineering organization in India. This position drives the two way communication and planning process between the Redmond and India teams. Communication involves detailed intra-team issue resolution on a day to day basis, status updates on execution as well as high level strategic overviews at a GM/Director level.
The primary role of this person will be to:
· Manage, lead, and develop cross-functional, cross- world project teams, focused on global system development and implementation.
· Delivery of analytical metrics: Drive development of analytical and evaluative information for use by others.
Some examples of accountabilities and responsibilities might include, but are not limited to:
· Status reports
· Post mortems
· Drive and Review estimates for s/w development and testing & Capacity Planning.
· Key performance metrics
· Developing functional specifications and driving technical specifications
· Developing short term detailed plans for individual projects/applications
· Developing long term application road map to help drive offshore resource planning
· Creation & implementation of best practices
· Manage project specific offshore budget, accruals, invoices & forecast
· Drive program management related communications, such as:
§ Project status and plan at GM/Director level
§ Monthly metrics reporting to onshore/offshore stakeholders
§ Weekly / Monthly status updates to onshore leadership team
§ Regular meetings with offshore leadership team to ensure that both onshore and offshore teams are in synch
Skills required for this position:
Must have
Minimum of 3 years experience with most of the following:
· Project management experience
· Exposure to software application development using defined SDLC methodologies
· Developing functional specifications, impact analysis.
· Experience in managing and delivering offshore development projects
· Experience in cross-geographical systems implementation and teams
· Experience in gathering requirements
· Experience using project management tools (e.g. MS Project).
· Experience with or knowledge of development tools and databases (e.g. ASP .NET, VB.NET, SQL Server)
Nice to have
· Experience in technical design, process analysis, and business application implementation.
· Experience with Human Resources business processes such as Staffing, Learning and Readiness, etc.
· Experience with Wireframes, Mockups, story-boarding, Scenarios will be an added advantage.
· Worked on projects with a wide user base, preferably high impact & high visibility to the org.
