Position Description:
The RXP Eventing team, which is part of the foundation of the Relationship Experience Division (RXD) organization, develops components, services and tools that enable business users and applications to easily define and listen to events and delivery of notifications in the enterprise. It enables data driven subscriptions, row level and conditional subscriptions, correlations, content based routing, integrated reporting and supports master data syndication services scenarios.

Core Elements of the Job
Program Manager is an Individual Contributor role encompassing program delivery and technical depth in a matrix organization. On a tactical basis, this position is responsible for working with Business partners; understanding requirements, creating functional specifications for the business needs, prioritize the requirements, plan for delivering the project in a timely manner with available resources, and manage the project till delivery and beyond.  The following is also needed:
1.        Know how to drive SDLC, ITLC, Smart Dash, MSApps
2.        Attended PMP training (PMP certified even better)
3.        Trained on Scenario Focused Engineering
4.        Ability to form and drive a feature team. 
5.        Hold weekly meetings, drive issues and risks.
6.        Ability to create clarity via specs / requirements.
7.        Ability to establish and drive exit criteria
For the strategic part, this role would be responsible for creating future state project roadmap, provide leadership to the team, create business cases for budgeting, enhance the project capabilities by continuous improvements & innovation, develop strong partnership with business and other groups, globally.
Other ongoing tasks would also include ensuring communications are seamless, escalations, risks and issues are well managed; interact with senior management as needed.

Job Location
This position is based in Hyderabad, India and will report to Principal Group PM. The job requires minimal travel, primarily to participate in planning and review discussions with global teams.

This person would have overall 10 years of experience with a minimum of 5 years hands on experience in Project Management and 5 years of experience Technical analysis or Solution Development.
This person would excel in written and verbal communications, would have a good strategic insight while handing tactical day to day tasks. Proven ability in working across the org, a self-starter, who can deal with ambiguity, maintains focus, drives to clarity and provides innovative solutions
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and deliver results in a matrix organization.

Job Description for Human Resources IT PM:



HR IT requires a Program Manager to define, build, and drive the offshore software development and testing efforts for the Human Resources IT organization.

This position will reside in Hyderabad India and be responsible to work with the Redmond based HR IT program management and solution delivery teams.

The role requires both tactical execution and strategic planning. In addition, the role demands understanding requirements, creating functional specifications, collaborating with Business/Key Users, Redmond Program Management team, Hyderabad based Development, Test & Operations Support teams from envisioning phase to delivering the software application in Production.

A key factor of success is the ability to build strong partnerships between the Redmond team (Engineering & Solutions Delivery teams) and the engineering organization in India. This position drives the two way communication and planning process between the Redmond and India teams. Communication involves detailed intra-team issue resolution on a day to day basis, status updates on execution as well as high level strategic overviews at a GM/Director level.



The primary role of this person will be to:

· Manage, lead, and develop cross-functional, cross- world project teams, focused on global system development and implementation.

· Delivery of analytical metrics: Drive development of analytical and evaluative information for use by others.



Some examples of accountabilities and responsibilities might include, but are not limited to:



· Status reports

· Post mortems

· Drive and Review estimates for s/w development and testing & Capacity Planning.

· Key performance metrics

· Developing functional specifications and driving technical specifications

· Developing short term detailed plans for individual projects/applications

· Developing long term application road map to help drive offshore resource planning

· Creation & implementation of best practices

· Manage project specific offshore budget, accruals, invoices & forecast

§ Weekly / Monthly status updates to onshore leadership team

§ Regular meetings with offshore leadership team to ensure that both onshore and offshore teams are in synch



Skills required for this position:



Must have



Minimum of 3 years experience with most of the following:

· Project management experience

· Exposure to software application development using defined SDLC methodologies

· Developing functional specifications, impact analysis.

· Experience in managing and delivering offshore development projects

· Experience in cross-geographical systems implementation and teams

· Experience in gathering requirements

· Experience using project management tools (e.g. MS Project).

· Experience with or knowledge of development tools and databases (e.g. ASP .NET, VB.NET, SQL Server)



Nice to have

· Experience in technical design, process analysis, and business application implementation.

· Experience with Human Resources business processes such as Staffing, Learning and Readiness, etc.

· Experience with Wireframes, Mockups, story-boarding, Scenarios will be an added advantage.

  • Accountable for maintaining a high degree of solution architecture and design capability with deep technical skills in one or more of the streams mentioned in the Areas of Expertise Section below. 
  • Understand customer environment and define business requirements with engagement and practice managers
  • Develop architectural/functional design document based on existing examples or new requirements
  • Map product solution and technical information to customer’s context; Conduct informal risk analysis
  • Create local prototype, or proof of concept, to test solution
  • Understanding the relevant application development, infrastructure and operations implications of the designed/developed solution
  • Deliver engagements as an individual contributor, technical subject matter expert or as a team member on small projects

II. Areas of Expertise
Consultants are expected to have deep technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • EBusiness Servers like BizTalk Server, Commerce Server, Host Integration Server and BizTalk Accelerators.
  • Portal Technologies like SharePoint Portal Server, Content Management Server, Enterprise Project Management, Solution Accelerators and Office System
  • .NET Tools and Technologies – experience of leveraging the same and designing, architecting, implementing and deploying  Line of Business Applications.
  • Databases: Database skills for SQL Server Development, SQL Reporting services, Deployment, 64 bit implementations and Performance Tuning.  Also, have fair knowledge on SQL OLAP, SQL Server Data Mining, Data Warehousing, and Business-Intelligence. Candidates with similar skills on competing platforms are also welcome.
  • Infrastructure: Expertise in one or more of the following areas. 
§         Messaging: Exchange 200x, LMS, LCS, Co-Existence with and Migration from the following systems - Novell GroupWise, Lotus Notes/Domino, iPlanet
§         Platform: Windows 200x Active Directory, Windows Clustering,  MIIS, LAN/MAN/WAN Technologies, TCP/IP, SMTP, DNS, Ports & Protocols, SAN/Storage and GSP skills, Business Desktop Deployment, RIS, PKI, etc.
§         Management: Systems Management Server, Microsoft Operations Manager
III. Education and   Experience
  • Must have a degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience. Higher relevant education preferred.
  • Highly proficient & solid Customer facing Project experience involving technical consulting, solution design, project envisioning, planning, development and deployment in one of the areas mentioned in Section II
  • Must have a proven record of delivering technical solutions
  • At least 9 years- 13 years of related technology experience
  • Having a MCSD/MCSE//MCAD/PMP certification is a plus.
